French Chateau for sale in Normandy.
This charming, listed chateau is in stunning Normandy, famous for its rolling hills and spectacular scenery. Just 90 minutes from Paris and ten minutes away from a town boasting lots of amenities, including a train link to Paris.

This magnificent chateau was built between 1604 and 1620. An elegant building called ‘La Jumenterie’ was added in the 18th century.

Behind the spectacular wrought iron gates stands this classical, rectangular style chateau, a three-floored building with an annex and a beautiful courtyard showcasing the outstanding Jumenterie, featuring equine sculptures, the orangerie, and dovecote.

The château has approximately 880sqm construction, and is composed of:

Ground floor:
To the left of the main entrance there is a vast wooden staircase, two reception rooms with fireplaces. Magnificent views of the park can be seen from the north/south facing windows. To the right of the entrance there is a reception room with a fireplace and a spacious kitchen, equally featuring a fireplace which leads up to the annex with an east/west facing room. Cedar and oak wood panelling match the exquisite, double-glazed window frames with blinds all along the length of the passages and rooms.

First floor:
There is a south facing corridor to the right of the staircase which leads to a chapel and a big reception room, all of which are cedar panelled. Splendid views can be seen from the small wrought iron balcony. To the left, there are two spacious rooms with ensuite bathrooms. There is another bedroom in the annex, at the extreme east of the chateau.

Second floor:
The same magnificent staircase continues to the third level. This level includes four large bedrooms each with an ensuite bathroom and double washbasins, each featuring beautifully restored roof beams. Oeil de boeuf windows add to the charm of this floor. An additional room can be found at the end of the corridor in the annex.

The whole property has beautifully designed night lighting which wonderfully enhances the chateau’s charm after dark.

The outbuildings include:
The fully restored Jumenterie, a 480sqm floorspace, with two sitting rooms, one with vast French windows and a wooden staircase that leads to the rooms above. The stables on the ground level have a lot of potential for a bespoke project. The first floor has been completely renovated with six rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and double washbasins. Heating is fully electric, with individual sanitation. All windows are double glazed.

The gatekeeper’s house has three bedrooms, a beautiful sitting room with a fireplace and a kitchen. It has been fully restored like the rest of the chateau and has approximately 140sqm floorspace.

Another house of approximately 110sqm which makes up part of the outbuildings has a sitting room, kitchen, and two bedrooms on the upper floor.

The outbuildings also include large barns with lots of potential for hosting events and or adding new rooms.

Modern stables including a saddle room, and a swimming pool (in need of some work) are found to the east of the chateau.

The property has 56.83 acres (23 hectares) of land, comprising of a pleasant English-style park, woods, and fields. Oak, Lebanese Cedars, Beech and Yew trees embellish the landscape.
