Winery & Buildiings:
The buildings are set at the heart of the property and form a closed courtyard with an imposing cast iron gate and central fountain. One of the wings has been converted into a large banquet or seminar hall. The second wing comprises a vast 180 m2 hangar. The hangar requires a complete overhaul but offers numerous possibilities
The winery closes the Northern side of the Central courtyard.It is a traditional-style winery with a total capacity of 12 000 hl in a range of cement, stainless steel, enamelled steel and fibreglass tanks. The winery is very well equipped with a tubular heat exchange unit, double pneumatic press, temperature control, rotary vacuum filter...
In 2016 a magnfiicent shop to sell the wine was built in local stone. In the underground cellar, top wines are aged in oak barrels and tuns. On the ground floor, clients are well received in a vast, impressive wine shop. The wine shop leads into around 50 m2 of office area. On the first floor, an extensive 150 m2 terrace offers a panorama of the entire vineyard.
Certified as being of 'High Environmental Value', the estate spreads over 90 contiguous hectares and comprises 77 ha of vineyard as follows :
AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages : 60,6 ha AOP Côtes du Rhône : 0,2 ha
AOP Costières de Nîmes : 9,13 ha
IGP : 7 ha
The vines are planted in high quality rolled pebble soil from the quaternary era (Villafranchian), similar to the revered terroir found at Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vineyard is well maintained and planted with quality varietals, 80% of which are noble varieties.
The vineyard is regularly renewed with around 22 ha of vines being planted in the last 10 years. The young vines sit side by side with the older plots of Grenache and Carignan, some of which are over 95 years old
Currently, the SCEA generates an average turnover of around 650K€ to 700K€. Bottle sales would require development as at present a substantial part of production is sold in Bag-in-Box and bulk to local wholesalers. At this stage, approximately 50 000 bottles are sold p.a.
