History & Architecture
Built between 1899 and 1902 by architect Louis Marchal of Laval, the château stands on the site of an older residence that previously included a spinning mill. After a fire destroyed the original estate, a new owner—an industrialist—rebuilt the property and repurposed the mill buildings as a foundry.
Constructed in sandstone rubble with slate roofing and granite ashlar window surrounds, the château features a distinctive composition of volumes and turrets, giving it a striking neo-medieval profile. Its arrangement of façades and roofs reflects the elegant internal layout.
