Three wells on the property, one of which is fitted with pumps for watering the garden. To the East of the main house, by the kitchen entrance, lies the kitchen garden, with seven square beds constructed of old railway sleepers and raised half a metre above the ground to make gardening and maintenance easier. To the South of the main house is an attractive sheltered tiled sun terrace, created from the original 1830 floor tiles which were part of the house and ideal for al resco dining. Using the efficient and chlorine-free saltwater system, the pool is also heated and has a standard depth of one metre sixty throughout. The pool is surrounded by a large weathered Canadian-pine (teak look) deck. The pool house, 5x4 metres, contains the pump system with automatic ph control, salt electrolysis system and frost protection facility. The pool is surrounded and protected to the North and North-West by a crescent shaped bank upon which grows thick dwarf bamboo.Around and the pool is another one of the interesting features of the property, a productive olive grove, one of the first in this part of France. (Normally, olive production starts about 100km further to the South) Thanks to the sheltered area created by the hedging and banking, the trees thrive and crops of 55 kilos of olives were gathered in 2006 and 2007, from our principal seven trees, giving 15 litres of our own virgin cold pressed oil. Five further trees were planted in 2006, and will start bearing fruit shortly. To the south of the main lawn, which measures 100 metres by 70, is a large orchard, mainly planted in 1996, with several varieties of fruit, berry, and nut bushes.
